Girls are a matter of ECONOMICS

Every day in India, 2,000 female infants are killed in the womb.

Urmila Bendre, adviser (gender and community), UNFPA, India, said, “Sex ratio at birth is falling in all states. Punjab has lower sex ratio due to sex-selective abortions. Even parts of Delhi show a fall in ratio — 850 females for every 1,000 males. It’s a matter of economics to the family as they worry about dowry for a daughter, while they believe sons take care of them for life.”

Well, if girls are considered as a matter of economics then as per the law of economics our country will have to pay an unimaginable price for the declining number of girls in the various parts and only collective spirit can help bring the change.
