Poetic expression of Shakti

This lovely poem is shared with us by Aakriti Malhotra, who participated in the recent youth shivir held at Gurumaa Ashram. This beautiful expression portrays the feelings of a girl for another girl who is not given the chance to live.
Save girls! Save girls!
They are like precious pearls.
They are home makers and not home takers.
Girls! It’s time you learn to be independent and no more dependent.
Dhyaan is the best aid,
So do it before it’s too late.
The ratio of girls as to boys has become very less
And this all has been converted into a big mess.
So Save Girls! Save girls!
They are like precious pearls.
Now lets all pledge to make this country a better place to live in by stopping killing of girls.
SHAKTI - The name itself suggests that it means power, strength, determination. Girls are precious and therefore we should save them from being killed. Shakti is a project founded by our Guruji to help stop killing of girls. Girls are being killed as soon as they are born. In poor parts of our country like Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi, the ratio of girls as to boys is very less. Girls are killed firstly due to age old myth that people will believe and secondly there parents think that they will have to pay huge amount of money for dowry. They want boys because they think boys are the ones who will make the family proud and carry forward their family name. If they cannot be brought to life again. They should also not be killed. This is increasing the rate of crime against women and will cause a natural and social imbalance. Need for the hour is to eradicate old age myth and to make girls independent. Shakti aims for a better society and to make girls realize that they in no way are more inferior to boys. It also give them financial support for their education. So if we work together we can make the world a better place to live.
